Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I had an appointment with my nurse practitioner's student on Tuesday. He suggested that I go back into therapy. I really don't want to do that. My last session was in October and I had been wanting to get out of it for months. But I have been wigged out since at least April when I was on Spring Break. I have snapped people's heads off in stores, spent a lot of time ruminating about a friend who has been on my last nerve, have disliked all the rain that we've been having, am upset that I am not living up to my NYE resolution to clean my house, am not happy that I have so much responsibility regarding my Aunt, who is now an additional 25 minutes away, and other stuff. Last week my washer broke down and this week I got a $55 parking ticket. I don't even clear that much in a day. Things had been going very well before all of this. I am a big advocate for therapy so I will think it over. Have a nice day!

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
I had to fight a parking citation from a city location I had not been to in forty years. It was finally dismissed, but I had to do a lot of research. I feel for you with the parking ticket because sometimes, they get it wrong.
With your Aunt, there are so many directions those words send my thoughts to. I truly hope someone steps up to help you through this difficult challenge.
Cleaning house is different from clearing clutter and it takes time to do a little bit and overwhelming if the whole is looked at, without separating the little bits that can make a difference.
I hope the washer repair is easy.
The rain cleans and clears.
When something happens in a relationship that shows true character, it often leads to feelings changing.
Here's hoping you find your calm, peace, and gentle to be positive in challenging social situations as you sort through your feelings.
Therapy comes in many different forms. We support you here! You got this!
Your friend, well this is not a good friend and maybe you know deep down that this person was self-absorbed. Until you got strong and said goodbye. Sometimes we have to do this in our lives.
We ruminate because it is a loss and our minds remember and our brains think. I think anger is part of grieving.
I am in a transition period in my own life. Sounds like you are in one also. This can be confusing, scary, we doubt ourselves, we feel fear of the unknown, etc.
I think you do not like the anger and dumping on other people. I can tell you have a kindness and love within yourself. You are very giving to your poor aunt.
Do you practice any gratitude? Daily listing three things you are grateful for instead of always ruminating on the bad in your life. Do this pen to paper and in a month I bet your mindset will be more on grateful and have reduced anger.
I am on my 6th therapist. The first 4? I could tell after 1 or 2 sessions that I didn't like them. It can take awhile to find one that you "click" with. But they are out there! I can message you about where to look for one online, I know a good website (where I found my therapists).
I think most all of us ruminate when we are upset, stressed, grieving.... It's just if it's disrupting daily life too much and for too long, that maybe talking to a therapist for awhile might help.
Good luck with this. It's not easy!
