Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Sometimes people just are irritable and the chemistry in relationships is not always good. It may be just for the day or it's as things are with them.
I had coworker in Malibu who could not be please (she was a cashier, when I was a courtesy clerk) Even if I tried she still was heartless - so I just pitied her
and thought what a gross person. It's just how it goes sometimes in the relationships we had. She was lovely to some folks.
I never tried to tit for tat with her - I did my utmost to please her - and then
when that never happened I kind of did a thought process of 'doing a good job is it's own reward" (since I was not getting a reward from her.
That taught me to stay in my own lane and just become a better professional.
I can't say I haven't been a fool, but i try to keep silent about opinions in with certain people. And when their cruel, I just act polite or keep in my lane as said previously.
amen, light. sound and solid advice. works in progress. . .
My two friends got nothing else going on in their lives but the hate the other side and do drama loving stuff. I also started calling their political stuff "hate speech" or "hate filled" which got their attention. These are two older women doing far left wing politics! But I also know some people on the far right who do this fear based stuff and these are both young and old.
I consider some of this stuff as me having to learn new communication skills. I also realized it stresses me out to hear the illogical or fear or hate based stuff so I set strong boundaries on people I do really like otherwise.
I heard a psychologist say this fear based political stuff we have going on, both sides, is based on a need to control their own world. To feel in command, in control, or to feel a part of something, some group.
One of my favorite sayings is we can't force someone who is irrational or illogical to be rational or logical. I certainly tried to do this for many years until I realized my own codependence and need to be right. I have cut my reacting like this down quite a bit which doesn't mean I am perfect.
A good friend taught me to say this: "that is one way to think about it" and not said in anger, said calmly. I also sometimes say, "hmmm... I'll have to think about that" -- learned that one with having young kids. These are for when you are forced to respond verbally. The first one gives respect and the second one gives attention or sort of validates them inside their own mind.
I have lately said "now that is interesting" and people feel validated. They don't know what I am really thinking and what I find interesting is how strange their thinking is.

he doesn't need to duplicate my priorities for me to love him.
