Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Eating regularly and staying hydrated helped with some of the physical symptoms.
Are you a vegan? You might need b-12. Your DR can give you a blood test to check for b12 and other deficiencies. My DR is mostly against supplements, unless there is a deficiency.
My advice is to research each supplement on google. I do 3 searches before I take any pills:
benefits, therapy
side effects dangers
recommended and toxic doses
Then I know what bad effects to look for, how much is safe to take, and what improvements I should notice.
Best of luck! Am interested to hear if these supplements help.
I think I have tried everything out there to be tried (acupuncture, vitamins, deep breathing, EFT tapping, Xanax, exercise, hypnosis, etc.).....nothing will cure you.....EXCEPT......stopping negative thinking (trust me....anyone with anxiety has negative thoughts).....you are causing your own anxiety....THIS IS THE TRUTH.
Check out Adventureguides weekly posts (she posts every Monday) on how to rid yourself of anxiety. It is free of charge and medication free. She will also catch you up on the weeks you have missed if you just ask her. It will take time to implement these procedures into your life, but I promise.....your anxiety will go away indefinitely! She give detailed instructions......so if you are looking for the cure.....med free and free of charge.....I highly recommend you check it out. What have you got to lose????
Anxiety will not magically disappear....you are gonna have to work on it. Best of luck and an anxiety free life!
thatwhichremains: That's really good advice about the three different searches. I know that these supplements can be dangerous if not used properly, just like meds. I also hate how they're not regulated by the FDA or anything...it makes it difficult to know which brands to trust.
MsBlank: Sorry you haven't had any luck with the 5-HTP. And Adventure Guide's weekly posts are wonderful. aren't they? I participated in the first couple, but have been slacking the last few weeks. Thanks for reminding me because her tips are really helpful.
MollyCat: Thanks for sharing your experiences with the L-theanine. I'm glad it seems to help you! I do have a question for you, though. When you take it at night, does it seem to help with your anxiety the next day, or have the effects worn off by then? I guess if I decide to take it, I'll just have to experiment with the timing.
Where do I find Adventure guides weekly posts? Thanks.

scg: thanks for sharing your experience with the B12. I'm glad it helps you! My Dr. wanted me to try Klonopin as well, but I was too nervous for the possibility of addiction :/
