Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I hardly ever post anything on this forum. But I read through a lot of post. For me, just seeing how others can lift people up when they are the most vulnerable is enough to soothe my fears and help my mood. Very rarely to do I make posts of my own.
tonight is different. I am in my bathroom, in a ball shaking with anxiety. I feel sick to my stomach. Too sick to leave the safely of my bathroom.
I found out a couple of weeks ago that I am pregnant with my 3rd child. This baby was planned and very much wanted. But now, the fears and anxieties are taking a very strong hold of me. I can't seem to calm myself down as I am normally able to do.
I am 39 with no health problems. No health history with either of my other 2 pregnancies. But given my age, I am very worried. I thought I had worked this out beforehand, and decided I wanted to take the risk.
my husband is an extremely laid back guy, he has never understood my anxiety. So I keep it from him. I'm turning to others, as I rarely do on this forum for words of comfort.
I really need it. Thanks so much for taking the time to read this post.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
please let me know. Thinking of you.
Take the time to relax, to find calm, and balance your feelings naturally, through walking, taking care of yourself and know you are a part of a group that cares, understands, and accepts you just as you are.
personally, i find it counter-productive to share too much about my anxiety with my husband. our relationship is already spread kinda thin from the pressures of parenting, building our estate, etc. adding expectations that he understand my anxiety syndrome, too, is a bit much to add to that plate. anxiety syndromes are something you can't really understand without personal experience and i am mostly grateful the love of my life was spared those insights.
i get much further on sharing with people who already understand through their personal experience. right here, in this very forum, is one of the places i find ample proof that i am not alone with the challenges.
congratulations on your pregnancy. steadying support while you work through the unexpected challenges ahead.
I'm sorry you are going thru this. As an anxiety sufferer myself, I know ignoring those feelings doesn't help either. Perhaps also focusing on all the wonderful blessings having this new child will bring into your life. We can absolutely redirect our focus and let our mind thing about something else, rather than stay in the loop.
Sending you light and love.
I had to take some time to myself and did not want to get online. I still feel anxious. I still have feelings of dread and just general “bad feelings” does that make sense? But again, just reading messages of support do so much. Something so simple, but it has a huge impact
Thank you to all again for taking the time to read my post and send kind words. Hugs
