Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
It's 3:43. I got up at 11:00. Late for me. Things started creeping into my mind and made me anxious. I have so much to do. I talked to my best friend and got a little depressed. I am codependent on her. I feel like her drinking problem is getting worse. I've known her for almost 29 years. Her morals have changed. She now lies and cheats. She becomes very defensive when I bring it up. She seems to have zero guilt. In fact, to use her word, she feels rebellious. This all totally goes against my grain. She also does stupid stuff. Twice before, I ended the friendship due to her self-destructive ways. But I missed her. She has always been good to me. From all of my life's experiences, and mental illness, I consider myself to be a wise woman and I think I give damn good advice. I told her to breakup with her boyfriend a very long time ago. She had lame excuses for staying with him. But then the cheating started. If I met her today, I would not want to be her friend. That's so sad. Besides that, I have a messier than ever house and I need labwork to determine if I have diabetes. I need to get my kitten's poop checked and he probably should be seen. I've been very mad at my aunt. She made me have a nervous breakdown and was told that I couldn't help her anymore. I still got sucked in a couple times. I have hardly been talking to her but yesterday, I had to go there and help her with a telehealth appointment. She looked so defeated and depressed. She has no idea that she is the reason that people don't want to be around her. I felt bad for her. I guess this was a big vent. If you read it, thank you.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
In my own healing journey from the sober side of the co-dependency coin, I am ever more convinced that there is no such thing as wise advice-giving or receiving. On the healing side of the coin, the best advice in the world doesn't help until I am stable enough to use the sage wisdom I am being offered. As the giver of the sage wisdom (in my humble opine), I never forget that about the other side of the advice giving coin. I wait until asked.
But that is me and every journey is unique. . .
Gentle support while you walk your own path.
Neither side of the co-dependency coin is easy.
Venting helps.

I felt a tremendous amount of compassion for him yet still limited my time with him and only under very specific circumstances. This was to protect myself.
Try to stay true to those boundaries. It’s ok to care about others from a distance. Sometimes it’s the only sane choice we can make.
