Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Two years ago I had my first panic attack I was so scared I went straight to the hospital. I thought I was dying. Things quickly went south and my struggle with anxiety began. I went to see a psychiatrist and therapist who put me on medication and it really helped for a long time. Recently I went through something traumatic I was pregnant but became severely ill and had to terminate my pregnancy. The pregnancy hormones also made my meds stop working and I had to switch to something else. I'm currently working through the anxiety and panic and now depression as the emotions from the termination are in my mind. I am looking everywhere for support and guidance because I have suicidal thoughts during my bouts of sadness. Has anyone ever experienced this and do things get better? I have a daughter who needs me and I need to be here for her.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
My own anxiety is a lifelong condition. There is ample room to believe I was already an anxiety veteran on the day I was born. My mother was also a chronic anxiety sufferer.
Peer support is a vital piece of my own anxiety management. I wouldn't wish an inside understanding of this condition on my worst enemy, but my peer supporters who **do** have the inside understanding are priceless in their support and suggestions.
This very forum is one of the more vital nodes on my therapy support network. I hope you will give it a try to see if venting and sorting here makes the condition any easier to manage.
Welcome aboard. I hope you find stabilizing companionship here.
You've taken the important first step in writing it out.
Grief for a loss of a child is normal. The waves of loss are often overwhelming. Sorry for your loss. However the loss occurred is only a small part of the process and so take the time to let ALL your feelings be released and cry as needed to heal.
Anxiety is a helper. To get it back to being a helper takes management skills that you will gain here through support, encouragement, acceptance, and understanding.
Practice even breathing to find the calm in the moment. This will help you clear your thinking so you can be present for your child in the moment.
Best wishes as you find your better balance.
