Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Hello,
Just to give you a bit of background, I have anxiety, depression, and I'm a recovering alcoholic. I also have childhood history of physical and sexual abuse. I take medication, go to therapy, and AA. I got sober 2 years ago (relapsed at 9 months and currently 10 months soone). This has been the hardest 2 years of my life.
I have a professional career and am extremely hard on myself. I have supportive boases who know a lot about my mental health and sobriety. I finally told them the job was too much for me after struggling to stay afloat. The anxiety related to work tasks is extremely high and I have a lot of side effects (e.g., full body aches, stomach issues, fatigue, suicidal thoughts etc). They are going to let me take a month off in January and I'm going to transition into a different job after that ( this is a layeral move, but the tasks may be less stressful for me).
I received a vague email from my boss about some things I have dropped the ball on and we have a meeting later this week. I'm so anxious and terrified about you meeting. I'm also extremely upset with myself for messing up.
If anyone has had a similar situation, or could provide some comfort or support, I would be extremely grateful.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
The things that were in chaos, you still did things right with those. Look at what you did right, and use that to help you find your way through managing it in a different way.
Be confident of your self. Use positive images, tasks and words to keep your calm, pause before you answer, and remain focused on the task you're dealing with.
Best wishes. It's hard when anxiety is raised. Here's to calming ways to bring it back in range.
Be kind to yourself. I know that for me the more anxious I get the more I avoid, which only causes more issues in my life, alas way more anxiety.
Congrats on the 1o months. You got this. This too shall pass. Hugs
I've been very hard on myself lately. I'm training someone who is new to my position ( training is part of my job- but usually it's training the people I supervise) and I'm worried that she is judging me. I've been having thoughts about cutting myself (which is something I have never done) and did it for the first time tonight. I'm going to contact my therapist and tell my sponsor.
