Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

About 45 minutes ago, I woke up arguing with experts in my dreams. Not quite hyper-vigilant, but definitely not peaceful. The dream faded quickly, but the arguments have continued with remembered experts ranging from my older siblings to Doctor Fauci, Lord of the Maskites to Doctor Spock, the popular child care expert of my mother's generation. As I have worked to calm my agitated thoughts, I again reach for a ray of humor in just how many debates can go on in my head within a mere 45 minutes. What does physical reality have to do with ^it^? Virtual reality rules. Let's do a podcast on the subject.
On my strictly personal inventory, high anxiety feels inevitable this week. Saturday is my son's 37th birthday, his second birthday since the car crash which took both he and his wife. Little League season has begun for his 3 orphans, bringing the first real social opportunities they have had in their marginalized/coronanized little lives. Only the 7 year old is on a team, but his younger sisters are quite involved with bleacher management. The grief of loss meets the promise of a future. Sounds like an anxiety cocktail to me.
Now to silence the critics on the sidelines?
Am I making sense? Reality checks requested. Again I leave the mood icon on the rapid cycling median.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
Sports have a magical way of giving kids a purpose.. I would know that ha! But sports are so much better when your loved ones are in the bleachers. You are amazing for being their for those kiddos. I hope you can feel the magic they do watching him play!
You definitely have quite a week ahead of you with that bittersweet combination of high emotion events. Be sure to give yourself room to experience the full range of emotion, and the time you need to care for yourself while you're going through it.
Sending strength and serenity while you navigate these potentially turbulent waters.
Anniversarys can be hard, it is totally normal to anxious right now. I bet the kids sport will be helpful for all of you. Hugs.
Daddy/son was an avid baseball fan. During his HS years, he and his father (Hubs) joked about their being, "High Priests in the Church of Baseball." Daddy was a religious Christian, but didn't believe God considered the joke to be sinful. He posilutely wanted his children to live the baseball experience.
That weird sunspot on the edge of the practice field has looked an awful like Daddy waving a foam rubber #1 hand shouting, "Best birthday present, EVER! ! ! GO DIAMONDBACKS! ! !"
Baseball is a beautiful season of family gatherings for me, and you reminded me of this.
As for the debating dreams and the people involved, possibly some things are strange to you. What makes sense is that (perhaps) some of these people are awaiting a signal of affirmation or acknowledgment that you are actively listening to them, that is, that the ones you may be able to speak with are awaiting. Otherwise, Spock and Fauci are motivators to move you towards a reliable and dependable relief system for the purpose of accepting expert advice. But hey, what do I know? I'm a long-time follower of Dr. Spock and a recent fan of A. Fauci.
:)
What you said about the grief of loss meets the promise of the future... that took my breath away a bit. I don’t know that there is meaning in loss but the idea of your family connected together by baseball surely is something.
Nah. . . The puppet debates are just a symptom.
