you need to talk to somebody, who can medicate..psychologists are just talkers..I have seen justa bout every mental health team member possible..but I really needed medication to help find a starting point, otherwise it gets worse, untreated..This will give you some stability to build on, then you can explore various techniques..I think i have tried every tonic known to man, every alternative remedy, not found one that singularly works, altho mindfullness of breath is mind-numbing(what its supposed to do)boring and needs patience..i did 3 hrs a day 7 days a week..about month 4 i made a connection..still cant use it outside..with meds/mindfullness and obeying my feelings, i can get by..The sheer terror of this situation cannot be conveyed..but you are not alone..good book just for fun- The Panic Diaries - Jeanne Jordan ; Julie Pederson - it helped me smile a bit, better than shivering..1st hand accounts of panic/anxiety stories and mantra`s..(some of which have been the most helpful)one author does panic & no meds, the other a Dr with meds..really good all round view, especially with doc with panic...take care..if you ever need to run something by..jus let me know..
I have the same along with many others, I've been suffering for a long time also. The weird thing is I was very active also, but now I feel like if I run up stairs or something that gets my heart racing, even cheering for my kids at their sports, I can't breathe, and the back of my head gets numb along with weakness in arms and legs, fainting chest pains left, right and middle. Its crazy! As months have gone by, I seem to get another symptom? But my Dr.says its because my body is adapting to a previous "symptom" and basically my mind is playing tricks on me.I've been to 8 dr. and many tests but i still don't want to come to terms with the panic/anxiety thing. One dr. told me that although people aren't dogs, that some picher dog when they bark and get excited they pass out. So its a similar situation. I feel like I drive my whole family crazy b/c I always want to go to ER. But it does pass although extremely painful and upsetting.Have faith and hope you the best. Hugs
