Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. Hello everyone. I'm new to this group and hope no one minds if I share my thoughts.
I'm at work right now and this place seriously triggers my anxiety. But what's even worse is that I work in the mental health field and it's seriously difficult to put on a normal face everyday for others because just like me, other people can pick up on my energy and I don't want anyone else to know basically. Yesterday I started taking Lexapro and it was weird. I'm definitely sensitive to it and I'm nervous to take it again today.
I would really appreciate anyone's feedback with their experiences with this medication for anxiety and depression as I'm currently debating taking it or not. Thank you so much to everyone on this forum for not judging and solely hearing me out.

When i was in the ER February 16th 2025, i was being admitted to ICU where i was for 3 weeks, then had to relearn to walk for 3 weeks in another hospital rehab floor, the nurse told me something that made me feel for over 18 months now that i was finally *safe*. She told me that the guy who raped and beat me 21 years ago now almost 20 years at that time, was in prison as of a month before that...

I got panicked and called my doctor anyways so I’m waiting on a response from him but definitely not going to do a full dose today. I cannot wait to NOT have anxiety dude
I was put on Paxil first. No side effects. It decreased my anxiety to a level I
could cope with. Still needed lots of therapy after. My doctor added a new
drug a year ago when I was having more anxiety than normal and Xanax wasn't
working anymore. I had bad side effects and only took them for a short while.
You can try something else if you can't tolerate or the current pill doesn't work.
I'm 100% for pills when needed. That and therapy changed my life.
I have zero experience with the 21st century meds, but I wanted to welcome you aboard and offer my decades of experience with support groups, both live and on-line.
Welcome aboard. Hope you find stabilizing companionship here.
Keep a private journal and write out what happens when where how and who with your experience.
Stay hydrated. This helps the medicine to work better.
Medicine is temporary to provide a better balance while learning natural techniques to improve coping and maintaining better balance.
Best wishes.
I used to take Ativan like it was candy to manage my anxiety.
As for ds, I’ve always felt safe here. I hope I’m time that you will too
