Hi Ryan! Welcome to the group, you came to the right place as we are all supportive here. I'm so very sorry that you are feeling alone right now. The most important thing is that you realize you've done nothing wrong. Your parents may be having a rough time with this right now but over time things may change. We live in a society that shames people for being gay, and your parents may be worried about that happening to you. Some parents are also in denial and have trouble accepting their child is gay, but that may change. As for your "friends" who have left you because you came out as gay, they are not true friends. Surround yourself with people who love you unconditionally, and avoid those who treat you badly. It might help if you talked to a school counselor or therapist Sony out can work through all of this. Even writing your feelings down in a journal may help you to feel better. Wishing you all the best. Things will get better. It's going to be a rocky start, but trust that this too shall pass.

Hi Ryan! Thanks for sharing your story! So sorry you are feeling this way! And I'm sorry about the reaction from your parents and friends. I agree that a therapist could help as well as journaling. Slowly things will get better for you!

Hi Ryan. Glad you are here. Personally I don't understand people. You are the same person that you were before. Nothing has really changed. Your sexual preferences shouldn't effect anybody unless you are forcing yourself on someone straight which I just don't see. What purpose would that serve? Everybody else has the problem, not you. Hopefully others will realize their mistakes. If not you just have to pick yourself up and build a new family. It's hard but you'll be better off. Lots of support to you and a big HUG.

At 14 do you really know your true feelings? Maybe you are exploring all options. Good luck to you. Don't worry about other people, worry about YOU.

Hey Ryan. :) I understand what you're going thru. I had a hard time when I came out as bi, but just know that things do get better. Kinda cliché, I know, but it's true. You should never be ashamed of who you are, and you'll find friends who support you no matter what. If you need to talk, I'll be happy to listen.

I am overjoyed you came out, it takes a lot of courage. You are who you are and that is the best thing in the universe! Sometimes people shutdown when they are in denial or are scared... we are all here for you and cheering you on!
