Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Does anyone else ever get a day, or a run of days, where they feel like all the people around them are thinking badly of them in some way?
I sometimes find that when I’m feeling anxious, I notice myself getting very worried about what other people are thinking about me, and I fixate on things like the other person’s facial expression or the words they said... I don’t know if I feel like this because of events that have happened during the day/days, or if it’s just a feeling that is magnified when I’m already feeling higher levels of anxiety than normal... a possible chicken/egg situation?
Does anyone else feel like this?

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
Where and why does come from? Is it the chicken or the egg? Nature or nurture? I try to let those mysteries be and *just* ply therapy tools here.
I think it’s on days when I feel stressed or I’m worrying about an aspect of my life, that’s when I feel as though everyone around is judging me. I guess it stems from the belief that everyone else has got their lives together and mine seems to be one big problem after another!
Then a realized that a great many (all?) of those people don't give a hoot about what I think...
So...I still have days...but not always.
However, I’ve been in actual situations where I’ve overheard people talking about me (related to my mental illness for example). I’ve learned that I’m not in control of what others say/think about me. I can only be responsible for myself and it’s not healthy for me to take things so personally —especially when I have learned someone was intentionally trying to hurt me. In other scenarios like people have said above, people generally are too absorbed in their lives to care so much about yours.
Talking to my therapist usually helps ground me. I know you can work through this. You are not alone with this!
Loosing a 21 year career in teaching and trying to figure out who I am in this working world gives me anxiety. I have been suffering, probably, since I was 6 years old with it getting worse in the fourth grade.
Why? It was my mother. What I should wear, do, act, etc. instead of that. In fact, I told my mom I was struggling, more than usual with depression, and she said nothing!
I am working on making me happy. I naturally put everyone before me.
