What impact does age have on our base emotions, anxiety in particular?
The Inner Child theories have formed the base of my psyhotherapy since the 1970s. Over the course of healing I have come to believe, more and more, that the anxiety I experienced when I was 5 years old carries all the same feeling I experience today at age 67. What has changed is the way I express those feelings. My vocabulary is far more complex. The depths and complexity of the dungeons and mazes in which I repress my anxiety can challenge the most clever of mythical heroes. in my own mental health maintenance, i figure that the earlier i can catch a psychotic episode, the easier it will be to address and remediate the psycho yaddahs attached.
could catching it at the primal response level be the ounce of prevention i keep wishing for? just wondering as i ponder the toxic waste dumps those primal responses are buried under.
in my own case, i was/am physically stunted but i believe the handicaps have lent themselves to greater growth in the secular realms. just believing. . . proof irrelevant.
