I remember how I spun stories in my mind to go to sleep, for years, until I married the current husband and started to have a calmer life. I would spin stories of myself living in historical situations but also finding a man who really loves me. And my husband has gone through some serious abdominal surgeries and is on a drug that kills his libido. He was a magnificent lover both times in our lives that we were together (still are together but he has no libido). He taught me that I wasn't frigid as my first husband would accuse me because I didn't want to do the nasty things he did.
My recurrent UTIs and then the hip injuries have made things difficult or scary also. I get this.
Yes, what's done is done. Maybe you need more outlets for yourself, more ways to do things that aren't just caregiving. Hugs to you.
and still i feel the urges
and still i yearn
i am beginning to suspect there are urges we carry long beyond our ability to fulfill them, just suspecting while i let the urges be a pleasant interruption to my day. it is what it is, whether i understand it or knot.
My ex husband was 7 yrs older than me. He wanted us to save ourselves till marriage, so I agreed. We had a lot of sex on our honeymoon, but he wouldn't touch me after that. No medical reason that I am aware of. Maybe he completely lost interest? Idk. I struggled for 10 yrs to make things work. But ultimately divorced him. Leaving one's spouse hanging like that is very destructive to the marriage. I hope Gareth is willing to try putting some effort into meeting your needs.
