Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
As the pandemic continues to drag on, the separation from friend, acquaintances, co-workers, etc means the sense of isolation for myself and my family isn't really going anywhere. My kids are able to socialize a bit with a small handful of friends, and they're now going to school a couple days a week, so I think it's getting a little better for them, but my wife and I, contact with other people is still largely through text or voice-chat. So each represent the other's primary social touchstone. But, my wife is also thoroughly mired in the fact that we've all been in her space all the time for a year now. She's not getting breaks from us. She's not getting quiet, alone time to recharge/relax. So, what has been happening is that we all end up isolating within the same house. Everyone, essentially, takes a room and we keep to ourselves. It works for that sense of space, but it also means that we're isolating the midst of being isolated, and that seems unhealthy. It also means we're all trying to, at some level, get away from the very people who are our support system during all of this.
I imagine this is not an uncommon situation right now, but it's a thing that has been kind of bugging me for a while, and the longer it goes on the more I'm aware of it.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
My 3 foster kids were already socially marginalized by the circumstances which placed them in foster care and the new kids in school when Corona crowned. Even Hubs and I are too new to the area to be connected. I worry allot that we are going to lose the window to help them achieve a functional level of social skills.
Wish I felt safe enough to **stay** safe.
Well, mask it all! ! !
We make time to be together and some 'me' time.
It's rough when a person feels they need the entire space to themselves-and it's a difficult conversation to have since they're usually not willing to listen.
Keep writing it out to sort through all of your feelings, emotions, thoughts, and words.
