Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I feel my anxiety mostly in my stomach, that sickly, prickly feeling. Not so much nausea but definitely this feeling of uneasiness.
Anyway, the hardest part to deal with is that it makes me like ravenously hungry. I eat something and it's like I ate NOTHING. Stomach growling etc. So I try to eat like a HUGE meal and I feel very full for a few hours but then I'm very hungry again. There's no in between, no feeling of just being "not hungry".
It's exhausting to constantly be hungry. And I'm trying not to gain like 600 pounds just trying to cover up the hunger for a few hours a day.
Anyone else have this issue?

One or 3 of those folks tell me it is still exhausting to be hungry all the time, but that it feels more sustainable than gaining 600 pounds just trying to cover the hunger for a few hours a day.
For what it's worth
These are the folks I can count on to have my kind of munchies available for me to bum off of them. We discuss this stuff while I raid their stash.
One of the things that worked to help me get out of the "emotional eating" pattern was writing out in a journal everything. I used stick figures to show where the pain was, I used words to describe my feeling in the moment , and then I made sure to get hydrated and stay hydrated.
Being hydration sensitive meant that my hunger markers were way off balance. How did we find this out? What did I drink when, where, with who, and how did I feel afterwards?
That took care of the physical sensations. The next step was finding the trigger for the hunger feelings. It was interesting to note that during this time, I ate what I wanted, when I wanted, and the only thing I did was use portion control - and if I wanted seconds, I used portion control.
The portion control was using the smaller bowls, plates, cups, and I use this even today. It works to help me stay comfortable with eating what I want, when I want.
One of the things about being hungry all the time is that it's a "real" thing. It is definitely a marker for "anxiety". The same trigger for headaches also sets up stomachaches and "hunger aches" as I call them.
How they are attached to anxiety is different to each individual, and how to find a balance is different to each individual.
I was fortunate in that I was able to find a support group to help me learn that scheduled eating was not going to work effectively for my life. I have friends who like having scheduled eating for normal eating patterns, and they enjoy being able to do the portion control on the "free" days they give themselves.
It's worth the time, determination, and effort to find what feels balanced for you in every way. It does take work.
Best wishes!
