General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. I'm 34 and have been on antidepressants since I was 20. I feel like all the ones I have tried nothing seems to help so I asked my doctor if she thinks I could try getting off of them. I tapered like I was supposed to but lately I'm scared of some of these feelings I have been having. All of a sudden I will get really dizzy, my hands and feet will become ice cold and I feel like I can't really breath. I was so embarassed today because it happened at work and I wasn't able to hide it today and started crying so now everyone knows that I have anxiety. Is this normal or do u think something else is going on?

It's National Doughnut Day!Which three would you like? (never mind the calories, fat, or sugar content; just go with what you would pick if none of that mattered and whatever health issues you might have that would keep you from eating one in real life can be cast aside for this exercise as well... have at it!)

On Saturday, while I was at yard sales with my best friend, my lawn guy texted me that he did my lawn. This costs me $70 every two weeks or so. I don't have great grass so sometimes, he skips. Anyway, I paid him on CashApp when I got home. On Sunday morning, he texted me again, to say goodbye because he was moving. My little thinking cap went on and I thought about how I am healthier...

No one ever explained why this was happening but Im guessing it was my body adjusting to no longer having the calming effects of the drug in
my system. You should probably talk to your doc about what's happening and see if its normal.
What you are describing sounds like a panic attack.
when you're on SSRI's your brain mutates to produce less seratonin. When you reduce the antidepressant, your brain has to grow back again and start doing this job again. This takes a lot of time and in the mean-while, your brain doesn't work and can't no matter what. Also each brain will take its own time. and I'm told that some brains don't actually reform and so you would have to be on the drugs for life.
So make sure you're taking it slow. For instance, i have been tapering off 2 pills a day of mine. I went down to 1 pill a day for about 7 months and in hindsight this was far too quick. After that I stayed on 1 pill for at least 6 months, have come right and now have gone down to half a pill. I'm now about 3 months into taking 1/2 a pill and in another 3 months I will go right off.
