General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

I am an almost 40 woman that lost her Mother last year, will be married 2 years in August, Husband is pretty much rebuilding my entire home. I am loosing a good friend to brain cancer at this time. And in the past was a domestic abuse victim. And my husband and I are both transplant from WV living in WI.
I have always had some level of anxiety but in the past I worked 2 jobs, and had an online and more friend support system. My Mother and I were never close she was bipolar and even though she tried I was the one she took her moments of mania out on. I am grateful that I was able to help her be a good grandmother to her only granddaughter. Growing up I had to also deal with my brother beating me up regularly and he is the only parent to my niece so I worry about her care. My father is now single and adjusting to being single after 40 yrs of marrage(they married young). My husband has had his own childhood turmoil and lost his first wife to complications to spina bifida and I just got him past nightmares. We have been married for 2 yrs this coming August, have been living together for a little over three years, he is the only person other than my parents that I have lived with so you figure 18 yrs on my own. My anxiety started to increase with the changing of my living situation, But until Feb of last year I still worked 2 jobs. In Feb of last year the nursing home I worked at closed its doors. Then in May my mother passed away and my friend ended up with breast cancer (2nd form of cancer) that after that cleared it went to his brain in April and his wife chooses to not let any of his friends be part of the end.
We also planned a trip down home were my husband was going to be in the same room with my brother for the first time. I also went off the birth control pill in late March and know that some of my problem is hormonal. My anxiety increased majorly in April and in May it started to decrease. During this time I have been working on loosing weight and with out the desire to eat well I am down 20 lbs just from that time zone and trying to get my acid reflux in check. Right now if I considered the anxiety I had in April/beginning of may a 10 (close to driving myself to the er or ambulance) I would say I am currently a 5-3. I have the tightening of the muscles in my chest area, numbness and tingling which seems to be getting less. My husband is getting my on to volunteering at the nursing home he works at real soon, I try to walk as much as I can and I came to this support group so that I can learn and communicate my problems.
Just reading everything I did last night (as I waited for my official email) helped a lot. Today was a 3 thanks to all the information I was able to read from you guys.
Thank you for having this group and I hope to learn and help others as I get though this new struggle

It was a huge hit with about 200 guests. We got so many compliments on our hard work and the great time they were having. There are so many nice pictures on Facebook with everyone saying they reconnected with old friends. But let me tell you, I am glad it is behind us. We all put a lot into it. We are having a lunch meeting next week, which I am looking forward to. Yesterday was...

My day...today...misplaced my debit card...didn't realize it until I got to the register after shopping to a full cart. Used a different debit card and pulled apart everything looking for missing debit card before I left parking lot. Got home, dropped keys. So now I have a missing debit card, missing keys. A full cartload to unload and put away. I got everything put away.Dumped purse for a...
You have been through a lot give yourself credit for getting through it...I may have refused to leave my apartment. Good job on reading will ie isn't easy. I'm up quite a bit of weight and I know exercise will make my anxiety better too. Talk to your soon!
The previous poster is right! you have achieved an awful lot already, you should be proud of yourself! To volunteer at the nursing home sound a great idea! I'd love to do that but as I live abroad its not allowed for me to do any work - paid or not!

I hope you are feeling more relief now? My anxiety has gotten better but only because I have flu symptoms now...LOL.
Yay for volunteering! It is so nice to volunteer and it feels so good after and during too. Congrats!
All the changes are going to affect how you react, so take time to figure out what you want, and choose your well-being first!
Enjoy volunteering!
But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. Another verse that helped me through the heartache is listed below; Ecclesiastes 3
A Time for Everything
There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace
You can also try something called essential oils. They have oils that help for anxiety. I use essential oils to clean with and for diffusing in my home. Young Living is the best to try and you can get a starter kit of 11 oils with a difffuser for a reasonable price. If you need more information please let me know. I will be praying for you. Take care of yourself and glad to hear you are off birth control. Stick to all natural things and keep eating healthy and most of all stay in the word of God and stay close to positive loving people. "Very stressed" was about 100. "Likely to die of a heart attack within the year" was about 300. I came in at 650.
That helped actually. When we're in the middle of this we forget how much change and pain we are coping with. Because we're so busy just trying to cope.
You sound like you're onto it, but that doesn't mean it won't be a long haul getting free of it. Be kind to yourself, give yourself time and have a lot of 'me' time quietly alone. Bubble baths are fantastic for this. :)
