Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

I get super anxious if I have to talk with people I don't know... in person or on the phone. Sometimes I'm feeling too out-of-sorts to talk much with people I do know.
I have a good therapist who has taken me in and only charges what my insurance pays her. She knows we have very little income and doesn't want me to quit counseling, as I have not quite figured out how to deal with life. When I was without counseling, I got to the point of sitting around wishing I were dead. Then I would take meds to make me sleep so I wouldn't try to figure out ways to die.
I have a good doc who prescribes my meds. She hasn't said as much, but I think she will do this as long as I stay in counseling as I really cannot afford a psychiatrist. But... this doc is leaving her current office and is not sure where she is going. So I don't know what I'm going to do after October. I haven't even quite gotten really comfortable with this doc, but was beginning to trust her. Now I'll have to switch docs!? Not sure how I'm going to handle this. But I guess I'll have to if I'm going to continue my meds. Practically scares the life out of me.
I was also diagnosed with a form of agoraphobia that is a byproduct of the Social Anxiety Disorder. I don't like going outdoors because I don't like people looking at me. I dash out to my car to go anywhere. It takes me sometimes all day to get up the courage to go to the grocery store.
So you are definitely not alone in this! It's a horrible condition. I really hate it. But I have to accept it in order to try to work through it. That is much easier said than done!!
