Angina Support Group
Angina pectoris is chest pain due to ischemia (a lack of blood and hence oxygen supply) to the heart muscle, generally due to obstruction or spasm of the coronary arteries (the heart's blood vessels). Coronary artery disease, the main cause of angina, is due to atherosclerosis of the cardiac arteries.

I'm a 33-year-old male.
Well since April 2012 I have been getting regular chest pressure in the middle of my breastbone area, and it kind of radiates outward. In other words, I can feel that it's more tender when I run my finger down the center of the breastbone.
I thought this was heartburn and went on prilosec for months and worked out--nothing changed.
The pain feels achy, like there is pressure. But it never felt deep.
I've mentioned this to four doctors and none inquired about the pain (since I was just seeing them for other issues since 2012).
I do notice that when I drink coffee, I exacerbate the ache. I have health anxiety, but I've also ignore this pain for well over a year.
The reason why I'm concerned now is the pain started to develop below the sternum in the area of the aorta. I notice this earlier this year.
I was dealing with chronic fatigue and noticed I had low Vit D. Don't know if this is at all related. But in Late July started getting nausea/lower abdominal pains.
I had an ultrasound of the abdomen and I had an endoscopy/colonoscopy. I have mild gastritis, but that doesn't explain the pain in the chest.
Shortly after the new symptoms emerged, I noticed I could see my aorta pulsating. It is exactly where I've been feeling the new pain. SOmetimes I get aches in the chest and the aortic area below the sternum at the same time. Sometimes it's one or the other. I was obsessively checking my abdomen because of bloating and had been concerned about possible colon cancer....So I know the visible pulsating is new. Moreover, I can't sleep on my stomach without inducing aches in my lower and upper abdominal areas. So this tenderness is new.
All my doctor said about the aorta is that she wasn't concerned because I'm not a 70-year-old smoker.......
BUT this doesn't address the recurring chest pain. And the pain I feel in the area of the aorta is almost like a rough ache, or slight squeezing or cramping. Naturally, it gets worse with anxiety---as does my chest pain........
I'm wondering if I have angina that has gotten worse and is now affecting the aorta?
What should I tell my doctor when I go back to her, since she may very well roll her eyes if I ask to see a specialist. What kind of questions should I ask.....
I haven't worked out in a year. I went the other day and the next day my fatigue returned and is still here 6 days later. It could be the low Vit D, but who knows?
I have no many damn symptoms I am just trying to consider some possibilities so I can go in with valid questions and concerns. I'm tired of being written off because I don't smoke and because I'm 33.
Advice please?
Also, when I worked out, I didn't notice chest pain during or afterward. I tend to get it, say, when I'm stressing out. Perhaps a different sort of heart elevation. Who knows......
I'm not asking for a diagnosis . Just reaching out for help.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
I've never had tests for my heart. No EKG, nothing.
I'm of normal weight. I do drink socially and heavy, but this is probably 4 -6 times per year.
I'm not obese, but I have a bad habit of eating sweet food and sometimes fast food on the weekends.
CBC, metabolic blood tests came back normal.
I do have anxiety, but again I don't believe it's causing these chronic aches. I've had anxiety forever, and I know what it can and cannot trigger.
There's something underlying going on and I've been too afraid to ask for help.
Also, hypothetically speaking, if I've had this pain since March/2012 and I usually get it when I'm resting, shouldn't I have had a heart attack by now?
(Sorry, reading other posts and didn't know it is an emergency to get chest aches when sedentary)
I guess what I'm saying is that it just seems unusual that I was working out last year, went to MAgic Mountain, and these chest pains generally hit me when I was not doing these things.
It seems angina is rare because I'm not reading about too many experiences here. I guess I'll just push the doctor, even if they mark me down as a hypo...
Vit D caused you chest pain?
I actually don't know if that would be at all related. I know Vit D puts one at risk for developing CAD.

The best way to achieve this is to eat a healthy, balanced diet, try to keep your blood pressure at a healthy level, and avoid smoking. This will lower your blood pressure, reduce your cholesterol levels and strengthen your heart.
I had to switch and it made a huge difference
