Aneurysms Support Group

An aneurysm (or aneurism) is localized, blood-filled dilation (bulge) of a blood vessel caused by disease or weakening of the vessel wall. Aneurysms most commonly occur in arteries at the base of the brain and in the aorta - this is an aortic aneurysm. This bulge in a blood vessel can burst and lead to death at any time.

Seizures

Is anyone having seizures as a result of a ruptured annie? If so, what was done for them, how long did they last, are you still having them? I know each seizure is different, but I feel a little alone in this. Im scared to death. Im not having gramal seizures, Im having aura's and non-tonic seizures.

I wish I could help with an answer, My aneurysms were caught before rupture. I have not had a seizure either but fear having them. I am sure you are not the only one since I was told it is a possibility. I sure hope someone who has had that issue can talk with you about it. Wish you the best.

Hi. I am having mini seizures as a result of a clipping due to a unruptured aneurysm. I have tried medication for over 6 months now and my seizures are still very active. I have heard so many stories about this..its scary because there are no answers. the doctors dont seem to have any answers. maybe if we had cause...they tell me to stay away from stress....I could use help w/that one...sorry i have no other information ...

I had grand mal seizures at the time of my rupture and the doctor kept me on Dilantin for 6 months after my surgery as a precaution. I suspect I have had a few petit mal seizures from time to time because I sometimes get what I can only describe as a jolt that seems like I lose consciousness for just an instant. It's a scary feeling, even though it doesn't happen very often.

The best advice I can give you is to talk with your neurologist about this.

I don't mean to sound flip, and I know this probably doesn't help much, but it might make you feel better to know that many people live successfully with seizure disorders their entire lives.


It is terribly frightening to have that possiblity hanging over our heads all the time. I'm 14 years past my rupture and still have scarey times.

although I can live "almost normally" with these seizures. my doc says they are what is causing my confusion and memory loss. I often hear about people waking up one day and having a clear head. is this true?....or being about to read a book and able to focus on something long term. its frustrating when you're reading and then all in the sudden you're thinking of the fairies that could be dancing around your living room....I wander....I just want to think clearly again and enjoy the things i love.....i can barely hang out w/my kids because i can tell I just wander and can't focus....???does anyone know what i mean

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
