Last night it was discovered he has another UTI so that will explain some of the behaviour. He is back on antibiotics having only come off them about a week ago. He is scaring other residents with his outbursts and I'm terrified he will really hurt someone.
They have increased the meds that are supposed to calm him down but we know as long as he has this UTI he will not settle.
This is incredibly hard and I now find I have to push myself to visit and that makes me feel even more guilty.
I just want a few good days but it seems it's too much to ask with this disease.
I'm sorry you are starting out on this journey which is a difficult one.
You will find incredible suppor here though. I certainly have and I'm a relative newbie to the group but not to Alzheimer's.
