Alzheimer's Disease Support Group

I know you will handle this with grace, for the sake of Rollie if nothing else. Remember that there is nothing that his family or anyone else can do to hurt him now. If they feel the need to make a spectacle of themselves well that is their problem. The chaplain and the funeral director will do their jobs and you will have a lovely service.
And then you can begin the healing process.
You will feel much better after it is over.
It is your last good-bye ( after many) and gives a finality to the death.
I hope and pray everything goes well.
I also has a bit of a wait for the funeral, but for me that was ok...I did have a good deal of anxiety the evening before and the morning of the wake, funeral, service....
I did ok with my in-laws, having determined to take the high road.....but I did experience it all as tremendously sad......
I am glad that you will soon have Rollie's funeral behind you. You have been magnificent...his family's problems are theirs, let them be theirs and let the chaplain and funeral director handle any issues.....
I will keep you in my special thoughts as this week goes by and you approach Friday.....
hugs....
Prayers now through Friday. You will make it. You have always made it in the worst of the worst times. So no doubt at all that it will be very very hard but you will continue to be loving, wise and strong.
Love,
Sandy
I am so worry that you have to worry about Rollie's family at this time. Try to celebrate Rollie's life in spite of them.
Just like Tigg says, his family can't hurt Rollie anymore and if they act like a bunch of fools, it is all on them. You are not responsible for them or their behavior. You can hold your head up high and know you were a loving wife that did everything possible for Rollie. They can't even say they helped... Just be your gracious self and stick together with your kids.. Ignore the rest of them as if they were flowers on the wallpaper. Sending prayers for tomorrow.
Sending good vibes..
God Bless you , Rollie and all of your family.
I will send up some prayers immediately!
