OMG, Deborah, his cheeks are sunken just like Kens. His eyes look brighter than Kens do, however, and his arms look better. I see sores on his arms just like Kens. Ken has them all over. He picks at himself all of the time. I can hardly bare to look at either of them. I can tell that Rollie was really a man's man before Alzheimer's decided to attack him. I just hate it!

So sad.This disease is horrible.My MIL has similar problems trying to put her dentures in.I had no idea they could even be put in backwards and upside down.

Ron had similar trouble with glasses. He also had issues with spoon, fork and glass. He often just poured his drink on the table or floor.. spoon upside down.. wrong end. So sad.

You should show these pictures to hospice.

Deb.. are there more than one hospice service available in your area ?

8 months in this disease is a lifetime. Eight months ago Carolyn and I were emailing back and forth from Florida trips(though they weren't good we were at least there)...and now her dear Carl is gone and my Rob is in Hospice!

Looking forward 8 mos I wonder where each of us will be.

Can't pull up your facebook since I am in the library and I guess they don't allow you to go on facebook. Once I get my computer checked out at home which might take a while I will check it out. I believe I will still be right where I am unless some drastic changes occur in Tom and we all know things can turn around very quickly.

OMG Deborah, my heart is breaking for you. It is sooo sad. Carl looked actually worse than that when he died because of going thru surgery for his hip. But, 8 months definitely makes a big difference. We were in Florida for Valentines day and I'm trying to figure out how to get that picture on here. Sometimes my brain acts like I am getting it too.
Rollie looked like a different man 8 months ago. I cry when I think of how cruel this disease is to all of us...them and us.

i don't like to post photos on this site, either.... i used to back in 2007...but stopped.....

interesting.... a friend of mine (very dear friend) was upset about the pictures. he was concerned that they didn't dignify Rollie, showing him in a weakened condition. After I explained to him that my goal was really enlightenment to others and also because I think that by not sharing the whole journey we are contributing to ignorance about the disease. I used to think I shouldn't take pictures of him anymore but now I feel like, no, I should. This is a part of his life too. Afterwards my friend said he understand but that the pictures also really drove home to him that his friend is dying and that upset him too.

I totally agree with you Deborah...the world needs to know what happens to people with this dreaded disease. Not showing pics so as not to remind others that he is dying is sort of like....I don't come to visit because I cant stand to see him like this. HELLO! this is the way it is! this is reality! We live it everyday. I'm still trying to get my hubby's pics together and while it has only been 6 months since we were in Florida, he has already been gone over two of those months.
I'm sure that his broken hip surgery has hastened his death, the dederioration to that point was incredible. In all honesty, I think our hubby's would agree about the pictures if they could only tell us.
