Alopecia Areata Support Group
Alopecia areata ("baldness in spots") is a form of hair loss from areas of the body, usually from the scalp. Because it causes bald spots on the head especially in the first stages, it is also called spot baldness. Hair loss can extend to eyebrows, eyelashes and facial and nasal hair and create more bald spots elsewhere in the body.

I am taking these 3 things and my hair has completely stopped falling out! And it does matter from what company you buy it as not all supplement companies are alike. Supplements are not regulated like prescriptions drugs so they quality varies. I take the Source Naturals MethylCobalamin B-12 sublingual two 1 mg pills. NSI Vit D liquid drops 2,000 IU drops but I take 20,000 IU's at one time and Nutricology Biotin 5000mg 1 per day. This combo has stopped my hairloss. Other products that I use that work are MIN New York shampoo/Conditioner and DHT Scalp Cleanser and a vegetarian diet. I attribute all these things to saving my hair! U can get the vitamins at www.vitacost.com and the shampoo on amazon.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
Also, B-12 sublingual: does that just mean under your tongue?
Thanks for the input.
Anyway, my vitamin D level was pretty much nonexistent. My NP put me on 50,000 units/week for 12 weeks and then 1200-1800 units supplement daily. I think that's pretty standard treatment for D deficiency.
How else do you get such large doses of Vit D besides the sun? 20, 000 or 50,000 IUs that are mentioned here seems you would have to take a whole bottle every day to get that kind of dose. I just don't understand. Can someone please explain!!!!
