I haven't been on DS much, been very busy and doing well. We now have a granddaughter! She was born on Feb. 3, 2015. Her name is Makenya Marie, and is just gorgeous. There are pictures of my grandbabies on my page.
I am still babysitting Colton (almost 5 years) and his little brother Hayden (almost 16 months). They wear me out. I am 62, and not able to do as much as I used to. It's aggravating to look in the mirror and see the old lady looking back at me... hahahaha!
Anyway, we are doing OK and reasonably healthy. My husband has stage 4 degenerative arthritis, and has already had surgery on his left foot, knee, and a hip replacement. Luckily I haven't had any major health issues other then high blood pressure, and that's controlled by medicine and diet.
I hope that everything turns out to be just fine with your daughter. Will keep you and your daughter in my thoughts and prayers.
I'm currently doing a whole lot of nothing these days. I have been searching for a local support group for Parkinson's in my area and there are none - not through the hospital or Health Dept. so I am looking into starting my own support group. I have already started to recruit for volunteer Parkinson's specialist to join the group and be available to answer questions, provide information, etc. Until I can get someone willing to volunteer an hour or so of their time then I won't feel comfortable starting this group.
I have just recently applied to be an Assistant State Director for the PAN (Parkinson's Action Network). I would be representing our area in North Carolina. Will wait and see if I'm accepted or not.
Health wise I am doing okay - been having severe pain in my left leg and had to go through both a muscle test (needles inserted into the muscles) and a nerve test (electrical shocks to the nerves). To say the least neither test was all that pleasant. I think I have Sciatica and all they would have had to do was an x-ray but because I have Parkinson's I guess they felt the other tests were necessary first. Other than that, I have been having better days now that they gave me something for the pain. I can function around the house again.
God Bless!
