Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I guess most of you know by now that I am going through a nasty divorce, and that's not the half of it!
I made one more meeting this week and plan to go to more. The words I hear often have no affect, going in one ear and out the other. I am slowly losing my interest in things and ultimately in life in general.
I am so use to being a nice guy but now now I am being taken advantage of because of my big heart. In order to get what I deserve in the divorce settlement, I have to go back to being the A hole, I was when I was drinking. But I don;t want to and I don't know any other way.
My sponser said if I can make it through this, I can make it through anything. He also said to bend over and take it like a man! How humiliating!
I want a drink so bad!

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

Things could always be worse. You've got your health, right? Be thankful for something.
I remember not too long ago, getting stuck into the idea that I don't have to be a nice guy, and that doesn't necessarily mean being a nasty guy. In some ways, they were two sides of the same coin for me.
Sure you'll get through this anyway - reach out if you need it.

You are a good guy, and it is okay to not give in to her demands, but to push back. She is the one who decided to cheat and walk away.
Take care of you -- NO DRINKING, okay? Even if you lose everything, keep your sobriety. It is yours. you earned it. You deserve it.
Transportation is a slight problem but I can get rides to some. Thanks!
As far as being taken advantage of might what to ask yourself are ya victim or a volunteer?
I've been reading your journals since your issue at hand started and I can't relate to your actions but that's just me. I do remember about a month ago when someone posted they relapsed on here and you commented "whats wrong with you man" and that's what came to mind with your deal. Not judging just an observation.
I hope you get the support YOU need right now. Godspeed, Dianna
And I agree with rummy. Mo' meetings, mo' meetings, mo' meetings!
