when I got professional help

couldnt have fellow professionals think i was just another loser!

When the doc said I probably had cirrhosis.

It was 4am, I woke alone in the house I share with my boyfreind. He had left the night before after I had beaten him up. It was extreme and the third time it had happened.

He had phoned my sister panicking, then legged it.

I had to leave to go to the airport to catch a flight. I thought it was probably over between us.
I got on that plane and I knew the absolute truth - it was ruining my life, my past, my present and I prob would have no future.

I got of the plane, went to work and had an emergency appointment with the doc, thats when i asked for help.

That was july 08, and Ive relapsed since, but that plane trip was always my moment.

Im nine weeks dry today.

Back in 1994, when I first got sober, I passed out while I was cooking, and my daughter was there with me. My neighbor came over to talk, and found us.

This time, the intervention that came from my family.

I now pray the nightmare is over for me once again.

btw, my daughter was just almost 2 at the time. I could have killed her.
