Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

Hi --
As I start day 6 I was curious about what you all drink instead of the alcohol would have normally consumed.
I drink a lot of seltzer during the day so at night I've been drinking Ginger Ale instead of wine.
I like Ginger Ale but I want to change it up occasionally so I don't get bored with Ginger Ale.
So what do you all drink?
Rich

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

My go-to cold drinks are iced tea, lemon-lime gatorade, and diet ginger beer (non-alcoholic).
Espresso, coffee and green tea are my hot beverages of choice.
When I'm dining out I'll have an NA beer, iced tea, or a charged mineral water with lime.
Great question!
God Bless!
My go-to is Perrier with lemon and/or lime squeezed into it. The great thing about carbonated water is that you can add pretty much anything to it to give it flavour - cranberry juice, orange juice, fruit slices, lemonade. It's like the sober person's vodka:))))))
A couple of people mentioned it in other posts, and so I started drinking it. Part of my drinking excuse was to relax after a long day at work. I find that a hot mug of chamomile or peppermint tea, especially this time of year, are very comforting and relaxing.
I ordered a Thai tea the other night while out to dinner. Freakin delicious. I need that recipe.
When I was out at that party I had ginger ale and lots of it. I keep a pitcher of sugar free crystal lite type drink as my most of the time drink. That's always been the norm.
I like, let's see: coffee, coconut water, hot tea, thai iced teas, Coca-Cola, tonic water, Pellegrino water , flavored and unflavored sparkling water, almond milk, coconut milk, green juice, cold pressed juices, aloe water, carrot juice, naked juices, and smoothies.
It's always good to have a go-to nonalcoholic beverage that you can drink when everyone around you is drinking alcohol, key tip to socializing sober.
Hot tea
Diet Coke
Unsweetened iced tea
Sug free red bull
At home I stock lots of different soda waters. The Perrier in a can. Grapefruit, lime, and cherry
Also I do have a ginger ale
and milk and cookies at night
I was having lots of shakes , zaxbys and had to cut them out because I was getting pre diabetic glucose numbers. That was a rough time for em bc I was using sugar and my go to around five to replace the urges to drink. Oh well it's always something ' life's a ride, I just am ever villain ant to not pick up a drink

I will occasionally make myself a virgin bloody mary with clamato - yum. Kind of like, Wow, I had a V8! haha.. Cranberry juice - because of it's cleansing properties....(I'm told).
Stay away from soda's with high sugar content.
