Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

So a few nights ago I was paged to a motor vehicle accident. (I took classes and training to be certified as an EMS responder for my local volunteer ambulance during the pandemic) I was the first on scene and as I approached the car (which had crashed into a utility pole) I was going over procedure in my head. Trying to stay calm.... All the air bags had opened... steam coming out of radiator... no one inside!!!
Trash and bottles on the floor, was obvious what happened. DWI and they didn't want to deal with the consequences.... As the rest of the crew showed up we searched the woods for a disoriented person... then the state police showed up with a rescue dog... nothing. Power company shows up to secure the broken pole. 20 people out there to help someone that didn't want help!!!
I couldn't help wondering what I would have done if I had been in this situation.... could have been me.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

The person is going to get caught regardless as they have their car and all their car registration details, so will be in worse trouble for leaving the scene of an accident.
glad those days are over.
~~~Peace~~~
If I had then I wouldn't have the clean driving record necessary to drive the ambulance... So the volunteer service is, in part, my giving back to being a poor citizen. When I went to India, the group I was with participated in 'Seva' with small community schools. It means 'service without any expectation of a reward'. Or unconditional love as it turns out. As I mature I find this Seva concept is what it's all about. All my self inflicted struggles over the years never allowed selflessness. Whether I knew it or not, it was all about me.... TBH that's pretty boring and I have noticed such a difference when I put others first. Not to say I don't take care of myself. When I workout it's not about how toned my body looks anymore. Sure, I enjoy the flow and feel but I keep up the strengthening to be fit to be of better service. And I'd like to be available as long as possible. And not to be a burden to anyone.
