Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
So I'm full into my old coping habit....give all day, and crash (drink hard) at night. I have to unplug from the news because the guilt feeling of leaving my 91 year old Alzheimer's Mom in a nursing home during this pandemic is too much for me. I'm not able to cope with her full time....no one could have prepared me for this....and I feel like such a failure. It's hard enough watching her deteriorate cell by cell....and I even tell myself that alcohol isn't helping...it's like I'm purposely trying to harm myself.
im afraid I've become physically dependent now on alcohol and having trouble stopping. Has anyone had success with any medication from their doctor?....

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

Time to do something different.
Fruit, lots of water and protein shakes. Three days later I was recovering.
I feel free and clear. You can too
I took Camprell for the first month while I was in treatment and I thought it helped. When I lost my insurance, I had to stop taking it but I was fine with that. After I graduated from outpatient, I went in for additional counseling and was well on my way to sobriety.
In the following video, this guy talks about having to place his mom in a nursing home. He is a recovered alcoholic.

The day after I posted this request for help, the nursing home notified us that no one is allowed to visit, they are on quarantine. It was like the weight of the world was off my shoulders. I went from the immense fear of what if, to acceptance. I don’t know what kind of a person that says I am, but I know living a life of self harm doesn’t work either.
I haven’t had a desire for a drink since, but I also know it’s about one day at a time. (It’s only been 4 days).
I thank God for this site and the people dedicated to helping others.
