Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
That's VERY sad.
I'm going to add an idiodic story to your original post....
My marriage was falling apart my 12th year of sobriety while my husband kept drinking every day.
ME~If it takes me to start drinking to save this marriage, then that's what I'm going to do.
HIM~SILENCE
I TOLD you. IDIOTIC and I thanked him for all the NO SUPPORT and left him.
I always KNEW alcoholism was a very selfish disease but that conversation took the cake.
Sorry, I guess I go back to 0 days sober.
It's YOU that you are letting down.
BUT....there IS tomorrow.
YOU had nothing to do with it.
From my point of veiw I still owe them for all the drama I caused.
I asked my friends why they were so stand offish. The answer was, "we don't have a deploma in counsiling",and "we are not alcoholics".
I became resentful and angry.I would tell them where to go when they wanted help. This did not work,it only added to the problem I had.
I had to get together with other alcoholics.I had to find people who understood my need to stay sober for 24 hours.
I could not give up on myself because my feelings were hurt.
No one makes me angry and resentful I make myself this way.
Thanks for sharing roser.
I see you can do it,I know it is hard, please try again.Don't give up,you are worth the effort.Life sober is the better choice.
You are not on day zero in my book.I don't count I just stay sober for 24 hours.
