Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

Treatment would not have helped me. Most of it is strongly 12 step based.. I needed something that fit my needs. I had been sober for 24 years before i relapsed. I developed a lot of skills during that time. For me it was not like starting over. I needed to take care of the problem that caused me to go out. I found this help with a PhD. Therapist who handled substance abuse as well as general psychology.
When I went in for my outpatient assessment, I told them I had stayed sober for two years, but that was three years prior to the assessment. I don't recall them asking me if I had stayed sober for 30 days (after the two years of sobriety), but if they did the answer would have been "No".
If someone was turned away for staying sober for 30 days, it may have been due to health insurance requirements, or the need to assess who has alcoholism the worst due to limited space or room occupancy limits due to fire codes.
It may not have worked for me in the long term, but that doesn't mean it won't work for you. :)
