Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
After that admission the other "musts" got much easier to accept as i could see why they were necessary and essential if i wanted to stay sober.

Then, having made that important decision, the Big Book tells us that a decision alone is completely useless, unless it is followed by action. Over and over, it tells us what we MUST do in order to recover. I have not made a count but it is said that the word MUST is used 103 times in the Big Book.
Of course, we MUST not do anything at all; the choice of drinking to insanity or death is still there.
Honestly what? If people are going to post false information about what the steps do and do not state, on a public for profit non-aa forum to boot, well it deserves to be challenged.
