Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
In the Doctor's Opinion, the Doctor talks of the type of alcoholic who is "emotionally unstable...make many resolutions, but never a decision."
If one is this type of alcoholic, I think the 3rd step is the saving grace for them, and the third step, is giving all of one self, to God. Giving all of one self to God and not worrying about the outcome either. The not worry part is a hard thing to do for the layman or laywoman. It's probably an even bigger task for the person who has been successfully operating with a decent or extraordinary ego in this world and in their lives.
I did my third step in an odd place, but ever since I did that third step, God, despite my difficulties and imperfection, has always allowed me to see what I am doing that might make me drink, and more so, has always shown me that others, are just as important to him, as my ego is to me. It can be a frightening step, to "decide to" turn one's will and life over to the "care" of God. What defines care? Does that mean that all the evil and wicked things I've done, prior to now wanting to not do evil and wicked things, will be judged by this "care?"
This is why I think it is important for if you are sponsoring someone, to get them right into the inventory process, if you are using AA to faciliate the process of helping one attain sobriety. Reason being is the fear angle, and the anger that comes with the fear, of having to change because you were or they were, not conducive to God's overall plan of loving everyone and making life, not necessarily always a hardship. I think it is no coincidence that this process AA uses allows the person to see they are flawed and need help, but then to quickly supply them with the ideas they will need to become less flawed of humility, courage, and unselfishness, in regards to how they are to no longer see alcohol as their great savior.
Alcohol is great, but it is not and never will be the greatest. Determining what is great should be an inside job of the person now on the path to no longer drinking, and in my own personal experience, being able to make decisions, even if they are wrong, has made this experience free from alcohol, a great one.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...
