This is the one they advertise over tv alot. Non AA approach to recovery and I was wondering if anyone has bought this book and if it works? How is it different from AA.

Well I'm suspect of any book that will make me rich, succesful, or 'cured' of anything. Your exp may vary but mine has been if it were that easy...well you know where I'm going with this:)
I love AA so I'll continue on that road to sobriety.

Funny how all the treatments that promise a cure still require total abstinence, isn't it? Funnier still is that they don't tell you that up front.

Abstinence and my own willpower has never worked for me personally, Only after hitting my bottom so hard i bounced three times did i surrender to to the spritual aspcect of the program and step work.

What works for some may not work for others, i only can share what is working for me.

I think the key to my sobriety has been the honesty part of the 12 steps. Honesty is like a magic pill that seems to cure lots of things.
I became a really good lier to my friends and family, so good that I probably could have made alot of money as an actor. It's no wonder so many actors and actresses have problems with drugs and alcohol.

It annoys me that the man hawking the book has his son saying on the commercials "This is not a 12 Step program. THIS works". Yeh Nemo, the guy on the commercial says "I USED to be an addict..."

    check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

     I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...
