Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

May I bold enough to suggest first up be careful of what people tell you to do or not do, I can not know your situation enough to tell you to do anything.
What I would suggest you do is to look at what can I deal with now ie the nurse exam and your children from reading your post these are the immediate concerns.
Look at what you can and can not impact on ie your brother sleeping to 1pm most days. Can you impact on it or not then do what needs to be done.
With you hubby and remember I am from a different country who has different support systems, you say your husband has been to war is there any type of veterans support?? Have you inquired with a social worker who may be able to help??
I have no idea of the green card process and no real idea on how to help other than maybe talking to someone in immigration to see if there is something that can be done.
But guess what my advice is to do what you can and then chip at the rest, make decisions that are best for you at this time and with the info you had.
And remember the only saviour I can be is me, I can only save myself no one else, they must live there own life.
Wishing you all the best G8
Honey- you are doing the right thing. Hard as it is, doing the right thing will help you with staying sober. As for your house, you have hope with your occupation providing some stability to you and your kids.
Start with the first day, the first 24 hours. You haven't drank since Thanksgiving- that is awesome!!!!
Please keep us posted. I really hope you find peace. It sounds like you are a caring person who deserves it.
