Starting on day one again

Hello all, I had almost 2 years of sobriety, and then let the evil creep in. I cannot control my drinking and it is out of hand.

I felt so good, and am so angry with myself for giving in (it's been really bad the past couple months, and I've had a few days of sobriety here and there - not working).

So, I am coming back, and so happy to see some of the same folks that were here in 2012. Thank you all. I'm happy to be back and see all this encouragement. It is wonderful not to be alone in this.

You are in the right place. Glad you are back.

And know that by you posting that it doesn't work dRinking really helps me to stay away from that crap today.

What is the plan to GET sober this time for good?

I found I could quit I just couldn't stay quit, until this last time I joined a room and continue to go and work with others. It's saved my life

Thanks 1is. It will be the same plan with a twist that won't let me think I can drink again. I did it for that long - I can do it forever. So, the plan is to come back to this forum (I only used it a few months when I'd made it a couple years), and make it a part of my routine. Also, re-read Rational recovery/avrt crash course, and re-read at least weekly. You are so correct about announcing to ourselves that it doesn't work! Yahoo!

glad to have you back...day one is just like day 2 it is just 24hrs of not drinking....that is how they string together to become what you had in your two years....glad you made it back...some don't and I have been to their funerals....sadly....hugs welcome home!

Thanks, glad to be here. Feeling much stronger today - just focusing on not thinking about drinking. I also have read the 13 affirmations about 10 times since yesterday - positive stuff!

Nice to see you. So you tried drinking again and that did not work. Lesson learned.

Hi IR33,

Wonderful posting and welcome back to the world of sobriety! Please stay tuned in to our group as we all want to hear how things are going. Your's is a classic case of "falling off the wagon" that I can relate to. Several years ago I fell victim to using alcohol again after staying sober for over a year. This time I have armed myself with this discussion group and a whole lot of research about alcohol addiction. I believe I will stay addicted to this discussion group for a long time.
