Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
Welcome to recovery, sista girl! Freedom we couldn't even IMAGINE is suddenly becoming our reality!
Perfect description BFF of what I am starting to feel. :)
Yay! This is G R E A T. Thanks guys.
Please God, let this feeling stick.
In the meeting tonight, a friend told me this:
Step 2
"Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity."
He said, "It doesn't say WOULD restore us to sanity.... It says COULD restore us to sanity.
This partly means that it takes our will, choice and action to receive this restoration of mind and soul.
I see this in you Anna.
I can never give replies like others, but sounds like you have reached that feeling we talk about. I am so happy for you. You have worked and worked and worked, spilled your guts out and never gave up. You are an inspiration to me and to this site. I am so happy to share sobriety with you and i am glad you are beginning to reap the many benefits. This is my first reading of the morning, and what pleasure and gratitude i took in reading this!
Hugs, and more hugs!
Pam
That change in thinking is so profound, all the time that we feel that it sucks that we CAN'T drink, we run the risk of having a f**k it moment and off to the off licence. Now you WANT to be sober, your recovery is on a different footing.
Excellent! this stuff really works!
Sure "issues" will arise here and there...but I have found that things that were the end of the world when I was drinking, are really no big deal at all in sobriety.
Gooooooo Olive!! woohooo!! Keep goin sister, you're doin awesome! :)
