Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

That's what my 40 months sober sounded like when I typed it. The 40 days of rain, I'm sure, was the thinking there.Not religious at all so I hope the title does'nt disapoint. I've been thinking about the spiritual journey I've been on since I quit drinking all those days ago. Read a lot on Buddism, the words of Jesus and (my fav) Taoism. Went to India for a month of yoga, Temple experiance, and (my fav) walking in the mountians of the north and meeting so many beautiful folks. Most were silent meetings from the language barrier but the heart connection was real. From month two I have walked in nature everyday and the silence of these walks has been the best teaching. Self inquiry for 40 months has allowed a lot of stuff to fall away from me. So that's what this sober journey has been for me. An awakening to my true self. It absolutly can be called a spiritual awakening as I know myself better than I ever have (my spirit if you will) yet it's also been simply living a wholesome life that has lightened my heart. I like what 1is2 says; want self esteem? do esteemable acts. Yup, I think it's that basic. I worked a lot the past 10 days and am taking the day off. Tea and watching the birds at the feeded I put up. Some yoga and exercise, study for my state test on basic lifesaving, then a hike. Picking up my girl for lunch later then more studying. (I want to ace this test because this volunteer work on the ambulence is f-ing serious.) Such a simple quiet day and I could'nt be happier. That's what sobriety and all this self inquiry has allowed; peace. I know who I am and that's enough. I'm my higher power. And it only took me Fifty years to see that so I feel lucky and so so thankful. When I look back at the start of this jounrey I'm in awe of what a mess my mind was and how subtle and steady the healing has been. Just beautiful. Hope you are appreciating your day too. everyone of them is a miracle.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

Thankyou for being here!
~~~Peace~~~
