wow U guys were only ones to comment on 23 yrs of sobriety a month ago.....just three that is all? WTH where is my parade? I had on my party hat! LOL

noticing this because I was searching to see if I mentioned something that I am doing this weekend....will post in new post as it might be there but it is over a month old if I did post about it before....

oops, we had the parade Bill and wondered why you didn't show. after checking, we realized we all had forgotten to invite you. sorry about that, but rest assured, it was a great time!

Sorry Bill. I don't come to DS often. Been absent from the group for too long. I knew your soberverary was just after mine...... not very responsible of me. I do apologize. With that said, Congrats on 23 year or 8401 days of sobriety. We go back a long ways, don't we brother. I remember I met you in this group many years ago. You know I usually come to DS around this time of year to help with the Football Lovers group. So if anyone here loved football and likes to pick games (no spread) for fun come over and join. We have a lot of laughs there.

See you there Bill. Keep helping these poor drunks fine sobriety. Guys like us need to help people like them.......

My friend tells me to "focus on 1 day at a time" but I find myself focusing on the future and the years ahead, and being inspired by people with 23 years of sobriety! Which is it? 1 day at a time, or look toward the future??

Sometimes one breath at a time... dont futurefuck yourself! Stay in moment but make plans!

With 14 years sobriety, I just live. The obsession to drink has been removed, so why should I even dwell on it. I live in the present, plan for the future, but I don't have to worry about "not drinking" on day at a time or one breath at a time.

SeaQ.... I may have 13,219 days of sobriety but for me it is today that is the most important. If I am not sober today, than those previous 13,218 days are meaningless. Here is something that I try to remember each day. It is from the Twenty-Four Hours a Day book.

Look to this day,

Congratulations Bill! I am new to this group and on day 15. I am looking forward to the day when I can honestly say that I don't want or need to drink...the day that I am comfortable in my own skin and happy with myself. It's a ways away but stories like yours are definitely an inspiration. Your message is a great way to start my day!
