Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
I am not being monitored by a doctor, but as from monday my partner will be with me straight for 2 weeks.
I am on reducing doses for one month. And see my doctor in just over 2 weeks.
Im glad my partner is here, I gave him the pills last night as I was zonked, I had taken 6 instead of four. I got really confused and thought I had taken 4. So he has left me 3 out until he comes home tonight to give me the 4th one.
What i am really suprised at is the doctor just recommended i dont drink but didnt give me warnings or side effects etc.
Dont worry, my partner has no intention of letting me drink even if i beg or bargain, ive given him full authority over me. Sounds weird I know, I want to stop on my own and for myself but I dont trust myself just yet.
I did have a few glasses the first few days then stayed fine and sober for almost 6, i had a fight with the partner and went to my sisters and hit thhe bottle, then the floor literally. Next day I went back to my partner black eye to boot/carpet burn. He is monitoring me very carefully again.
He has let me have some non alcoholic alcohol to help with social situations - we even contemplated teling my family, but decided against it.
My doc told me to reduce to 3 a day on week 2, but contact if i couldnt cope, the 3 a day contributed to my drinking but now im back to 4 (by another doc, my doc will be back next wednesday)
On saturday i only had one, I ran out and couldnt get any until monday morning.
I spent 48 hrs, unable to eat, i elt nauseous, cried and dont think i'd have made it without my partner.
What will happen when i come off librium altogether?? I was hoping I wouldnt crave anymore... But i did over the last 48hrs
He's out now, but im craving. I wish it was bloody easy.
I am not in a support group and i dont want to join AA. I hate the idea of sitting in a group.
