Roomate using WEED, claims she is sober.

I live with someone who has been through treatment, went to AA meetings, made a decision to stop going, smokes pot ( I can smell it) and claims she has 3 years of sobriety.
This just gets on my nerves. I realize it's common but the question is..
IS SOMEONE WHO IS SMOKING WEED SOBER?
..even if they claim their drug of choice was alcohol.
I am curious about all opinions..

Well Flowershop, ditto to everything you said about Rx drugs. Nobody in AA has a right to say we're not sober if we're taking prescribed drugs, I'd hate for a Schizophrenic to stop taking meds bc someone in AA told them to; granted, there's a grey area with that. I take antidepressants, I have been off and on since 2004. I was depressed and guess what? I started taking the meds and I started to feel better. Rx drugs could still be abused if you take them to get high. I'm no doctor but it would seem to me that marijuana has limited medicinal value, like cancer or MS. I'm sure there are many ways of abusing that doctor's order as well.

As far as weed goes, when I did visit a friend in Los Angeles, I saw the "clinics". It looked like a bs excuse for getting high to me. I walked in to check it out and they gave me a doctor's card and said just to say I couldn't sleep and he would give me a prescription.
It was that easy.
It was rediculous.
But now there is a fine line between using it medicinally and not.
I don't think they will be using it in rehab centers all too soon...lol

I consider sobriety as when your mind is not being altered by any substance. I personally don't think it is that bad smoking a joint though.

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
