Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I've been on a roller coaster of emotions today. First, I had to lay off a few developers in one of my companies. Then I got news that the sale one of of my other companies was going well, then a few hours later the entire deal was killed.
I am really trying to stay "detached" and not let these ups and downs get me.
I am now going outside to chop wood to try to even out.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

By the time I had quit drinking, I had lost everything. My job, my wife, my friends and family! and even my home because my wife had kicked me out! I woudn't leave so she called the police and I was given my choice of jail or detox....so I had a chaufeured ride to the hospital, compliments of Clinton police dept. I was in debt so bad, I had to file bankruptcy, but that was something I had to deal with after I got better.
I went through detox, an IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) and 3 months of relapse prevention group counseling. All the pieces went together like a puzzle. I don't think, I would be sober, if I had just one piece missing. I know it wasn't by chance, my Higher Power was in control of my life from the minute I went into detox. That....I am sure of.
That was over 7 years ago. I still continue to live my life my the 12 steps and I have never been happier!
God Bless!
It's just business. Don't get emotionally involved. That's why they pay you the big bucks , right
Drinking will not make it better. It prob make it worse
I get it though. Try to stay on an even keel Middle of the road...cmon

Like Bob said--such is life! A very large portion of my recovery has been learning to face emotionally uncomfortable situations head-on, without having an escape plan.
But remember, things can change instantly from one day to the next day.
May tomorrow be a wonderful day; one of peace of mind, relaxation and sobriety.
