Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
In recovery I have come across a lot of quotes /clichs / acronyms that have helped in my recovery I have also found a few people who dont like them so this is for the people who do. I will start with the first three that comes to mind.

I used this when my head was racing and my defects of character would raise there ugly head and I couldn't get to sleep. I found if I said this a few times my head would slow down and whatever I was thinking about would disappear and I could get to sleep.

I first heard that in a song by Charlie Pride and I went yea.
You know when someone says something you may have heard a 100 times before but at that moment it's like someone switches a light on in your brain and you go yea I can relate to that ,that makes so much sense.
Then as I listened to more of his music I thought this guy must be a recovery.

An oldie and I haven't heard this one. I just picture the old men with the cigars hanging out of their mouths sitting in their usual seats (God forbid anyone try to sit there! LOL!). "Hey Kid, don't let the door hit ya on the way out!"
