Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

Hi all. I wanted to ask your opinion about my stbx's thoughts on drinking. I am not an alcoholic, but my husband, who I am divorcing, is. I often come on to this group to 'learn' what he is going through and hope one day he can become sober. Anyway - the reason for me divorcing him is (I KNOW) from his drinking. He is not the man I married - has become entitlistic, knows everything, and everyone is an idiot. He basically decided to hate me a few years ago and divorcing him has been a 3-year night mare because he has become very greedy as well. He knows he is an alcoholic - in fact, I have texts from him that basically says "Thank God for beer." The other night he made a comment to me stating that drinking will only decrease his life span by 2 years, so you might as well drink up because rather than living to be 90, he will just die at 88. Then a few sentences later, he states that he thinks he has Acid Reflux. He also has metabolic syndrome, high triglycerides, is pre-diabetic (that was 3 years ago so he may be a full-blown diabetic by now) and has a huge beer gut. I'm just wondering if anyone else had that attitude while drinking. It just seems to me that even if he does live to be 88 - he's going to be in a lot of pain getting there. Thanks.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

God Bless!
