Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
It's been a couple of years. It's complicated but I quit going because I tried to turn AA into the Compassionarte Friends and it didn't work. It was all me, not the program and I knew that then, but it didn't help
Now, I'm finding myself depressed more often. The last couple of years have been really tough and feeling very let down, more complication. Physical problems as well, bad knees etc. But this is not a pity pot post .
I'm not drinking, but I will sya that if they legalized weed tomorrow I's seriously consider edibles. No way I'll ever smoke anything again ( i hope) I think not picking up a drink or cigarette are more important to me than I am at this point. But weed , despite the fact that I been off that nearly as long as I've been sober.
Any suggestions? Maybe online meetings?

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

Cycling is a good lo-impact workout for the knees, plus physical activity increases endorphins.
My worries and problems get left in the dust when I cycle and put miles between them and me.
Of the ones who go to the meetings, get a sponsor and do the steps, these are the ones who have the 12 Promises come true for them.
You might want to revisit the steps because it will help you with your depression because it did me.. I was one of the ones who just went to meetings and never did the steps until I relapsed after a few years of attending meetings alone... Here is a video that will give you more info on it:

God Bless
Give it a try.
Somehow by doing what I don’t want to do I overcome myself.
Don’t isolate, that’s the wrong road
1-2
Work it the way it is meant to be work. Not to satisfy anyone else but yourself.
As for the knee I've been delaying for quite some time. My legs are still strong for a 60 year old but most of the time I walk without bending them. The Cortisone doesn't work like it used to and I fall several times each year.
I've all but given up hunting and hiking. I need to wrap my head around the surgery, but like a child "I don't wanna" LOL
So I guess I'm stuck wallowing for now. solutions are there , but they are hard and I am not ready. It was easier to be resilient when I was younger, when all that work to change paid maximum dividends.
Anyway thank you all.
