Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
I have a few years under my belt which makes it very difficult to admit that my depression and suicidal thoughts are at an all time high. Just because we get sober and find some peace in recovery doesn't mean we won't experience mental illness as do many normies. I'd prefer to tell you that good recovery = no more depression, but it doesn't and that is an immature thought. Thankfully I have AA in my life as well as professionals who can help to alleviate the depression and anxiety. I have an appointment tomorrow to try some different meds. It's kinda difficult for me right now, but thank God I'm not drinking. Things will get better if I take action and ask for help. Just thought I'd share this in case anyone else feels/felt this way. You're not alone.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

My husband also suffers from depression and relies on mental health professionals, modern pharmaceuticals and spiritual connection to combat his depression. Some days are better than others, but any day sober is better than the alternative.
God Bless.
God Bless
Keep your head up and I will say a prayer for you tonite.

I have tried a few different meds over the years and being a frigging zombie is not what I classify as quality of life! I have issues with medicines because I don't need anymore addictions and so for me I have a therapist and mostly exposing my ways in a more bite size understanding has helped. I am not fixed and again I do suffer from weird dark times and it has been with me my entire life and it sucks!
If one character defect could be removed I'd most likely ask for the glass to be 1/2 full instead of the negative aspects.
Thanks for this topic as it does allow me to look back and see some positive progression as I haven't drank over my down times and so I must understand something about the disease of alcoholism....
