Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I definitely recommend finding someone you can tell. For me, it was my estranged (at the time) husband. He was the only one that I felt comfortable telling everything to. It was one of the hardest things I have every done, but also so incredibly freeing. Without getting it all out, I don't think I'd be where I am today (1 month tomorrow).
Ha omg me and my stupid metaphors. I just feel so tired...
As you can tell I love metaphors too. They are a good thing as they help to put my situation(s) into my own words. So metaphor away. You are using words and images to own your own problems and it is a gift to be able to do this...You'll be fine and get through this...
For me, an alcoholic, I had hidden away with a bottle to numb my feelings and my antidote was to accept the reality of my problem, get honest with myself and those whose help I sought. Only then could I put the wheels in motion for change.
I have never contemplated taking my own life but there were many times I prayed that God would. It makes me shiver still to recall the feelings but today every day is a day worth living. Get help, get better.
I was frozen in fear. I could not do anything. I started out by posting very similar to you then I worked up the courage to go to a room of other ppl like me. I was so scared. I remember walking up those stairs in that church and almost turning around. I didnt . that was june 9. I have not had a drink since that day.
I learned that by asking for help ( something alien to me ) I was able to get a handle on this problem i have.
Start living and enjoying life again. You can do it
Oh ps btw I too have had those terminal thoughts .. I even sat in my easy chair with a loaded gun and put it in my mouth. I was so hopeless. I just could not make any decisive decision.
So i share this. look up a meeting in your town and go. there will be open arms and ppl that want to help you. See once we get sober the way to keep it is to give it away. Go and start to live again.
