New med really helps my pain/depression

I have severe IBS and post gall bladder removal syndrome (Post Cholecystectomy Syndrome), which means I have a lot of liquid acid in my intestines. It is called bile acid. I was on a bile acid sequestrant, but it was too much (constipation), so I quit takig it. I now have the same drug in powder form. I have found the right dose and it has really cut down my pain a lot and still helping inside. I was very depressed from the chronic pain, I really didn't care if I died! I still have chronic pain, but, with Align (4 capsules before bed), Gasx (4 capsules before bed), and the new granular Colestipol, I have cut my pain levels by 60%. I can sort of function again. I have been in depression for so long, it doesn't just go away overnight! Sorry for rambling, just happy to see a little light at the end of the tunnel! Sly

Oops, was supposed to be in depression forum, but I'M a recovering alcoholic also. I will copy and paste it where I meant to post it. Oh well, pain/depression are a major trigger for me, so I guess it is not too far out of context for this forum. Sly

Thats great! I know alot of alcoholics who drank due to pain. It's a huge trigger! Now that it is under control, I hope you can stay sober.

I learned to accept the pain. If i did not accept it, I would be perfectly miserable. I have been able to lower the gabapentin dose from 6 capsules at bedtime to 3 capsules. BWT gabapentin is also good for reducing the cravings for alcohol. I have spinal stenosis and a herniated disk . Yesterday was my 73rd birthday. I still work rather that sit at home.

My daughter is a Chinese medicine doctor in Vietnam. She sends me a herb liniment that she makes for me. I use it when I have muscle pain in the back. Life is good.

    check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

     I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...
